All About You
An immersive interactive artwork that responds in real time to the viewer's brain activity, facial expression and movement (work in progress).
All About You is a semi immersive interactive artwork that changes in response to viewers' brainwaves, movement and facial expressions in real time. This artwork will be one of the first of its kind in terms of its scale and the number of human signals the art responds to. Audiences can choose to watch a demo or try out the artwork themselves by standing before a camera and wearing a headband.
The work fuses a number of inputs to generate an artistic output image that is responsive to the human viewer. Signals in terms of EEG (electroencephalography), heart rate, movement, gesture and facial expression can be used in isolation or combination to provide sources of variation in the art, which the human viewer uses interact with the art, control it or simply view the images changing in response to their behaviour and watch what emerges.
Touchdesigner software is used to collect the signal inputs and use them in combination with a transformational pipeline to modulate a number of real and AI generated visuals.
In creating the work Kate is hoping that All About You will stimulate thought about what sort of ambient environments and virtual décor technology could bring to the future, and how we humans might co-evolve with the technology.
